HELICAL PIERS

Engineered deep foundation systems for compression, tension and underpinning applications.

DEEP FOUNDATION SOLUTIONS

Helical Foundations Built Around the Project

Helical piers provide versatile deep foundation solutions where weak or variable soils, restricted access, existing structures or accelerated schedules make conventional foundations difficult. Empire installs project-specific helical systems for both compressions and tension applications.

ENGINEERED FOR THE APPLICATION

Pile shaft size, helix configuration, installation depth and required torque are selected based on project loading and subsurface conditions. Where delegated design is required, Empire can coordinate sealed foundation submittals and installation criteria through qualified engineering partners. We also work with project teams to identify value-engineering opportunities that optimize pile configuration, installation methods and overall foundation costs while maintaining the required design performance.

The Helical Advantage

Rapid Installation

Limited Access

Design Verification Testing

  • Fast Installation - Rapid installation with no concrete cure time, allowing piles to be loaded immediately after installation.

  • Minimal Site Disturbance - Small equipment, limited excavation, and minimal ground disturbance help protect existing site conditions.

  • Limited-Access Installation - Compact and versatile equipment makes helical piles well suited for confined space, interior work, and difficult-access sites.

  • Minimal Spoils & Clean Installation - Installation generates little to no soil spoils, reducing clean up, hauling, and disrupting to active sites making helical foundations ideal for hard to access areas and contaminated soils.

  • Reduced Mobilization Costs - Compact installation equipment requires fewer resources to transport and mobilize, helping reduce overall project costs and site logistics.

  • Year-Round Installation - Installation is less dependent on weather, temperature, and concrete curing conditions, helping keep projects on schedule.

  • New Construction - Deep foundations for commercial, residential, industrial, institutional, and civil structures where unsuitable soils require loads to be transferred to competent bearing strata.

  • Underpinning & Foundation Repair - Stabilizes existing foundations and provides supplemental support for settlement repair, structural modifications, and increased building loads.

  • Limited-Access Foundations - Provides deep foundation support in confined areas, building interiors, basements, and locations where conventional deep foundation equipment cannot operate.

  • Equipment & Structural Foundations - Supports generators, mechanical equipment, tanks, platforms, canopies, and other industrial foundations.

  • Boardwalks & Pedestrian Bridges - Low-impact foundation support for boardwalks, pedestrian bridges, and elevated walkways, particularly in wetlands, environmentally sensitive areas, and difficult-access sites.

  • Utility, Infrastructure and Solar - Provides foundation and anchoring solutions for transmission structures, light poles, signs, solar installations, transportation projects and other infrastructure needs.

American Made Built To Perform

At Empire, we don’t compromise on the quality of the materials that go into our foundation systems. We proudly use American-made helical foundation components manufactured under rigorous quality-control standards and evaluated in accordance with ICC-ES AC358 requirements. Our systems are built from high-strength structural steel, with components selected for strength, consistency and long-term performance. From pile shafts and helices to couplings and foundation brackets, we believe a quality foundation starts with quality materials—and we’re committed to using American-made products we can stand behind.
